Understanding that Christ “loved the church and gave himself up for her” (Ephesians 5:25), Gratia retains formal membership. We acknowledge formal membership as an important step in demonstrating our commitment to Jesus Christ.
All believers are members of the body of Christ and local church membership is the public acknowledgment of this spiritual reality. As followers of Christ, we are all “members of the household of God” (Ephesians 2:19), and it is our duty to play our roles as a member of His body. We become one healthy body when each member does its part well (1 Corinthians 12:20).
Boston Immanuel Church holds its members in high regard—they are expected to proclaim and reveal the gospel in anywhere their life happens. In a multi-cultural city, God, in his sovereignty, placed us among these people with a purpose. We pray to be faithful managers of the House of God.
